“CHIANTI” is set in Tuscany (Italy), less than 1000 mt away from the village of Badia Agnano, placed within easy walking distance.
Badia Agnano is a village counting approx. 900 inhabitants, positioned at 250 mt from sea-level.
In the village, the Abbey of St. Mary, built around the Year 1000, still presents the typical features of Tuscan Romanesque style. The Abbey’s church presents only one nave.

In the village: post-office, chemist, two auto-repairs, self-service petrol station, two pubs, two groceries, greengrocer, bakery, butcher, ironmongery, florist, haberdashery, clothes shop, house-hold articles, two hair-dressers, disco-pub.The village is crossed by a convenient asphalted road leading to Florence (approx. 65 km) and Siena (approx. 35 km) or to the east side of Tuscany (Arezzo, approx. 25 km) and Valdichiana valley.
For tourists loving shorter itineraries, the little hamlet of S. Pancrazio, set on a peaceful hill of approx. 560 mt height, is only 6 km away (asphalted road).
Following the road to Florence, after 2,6 km there is the Capannole junction with a restaurant and a horse-riding school.
Turning to your left and following the E78 Fano-Perugia-Siena-Grosseto road, after approx. 6,5 km you will find the village of Ambra.
Turning to your right toward Montevarchi and Florence you will meet the village of Bucine (approx. 7 km), administrative centre of the municipality where the holiday homes "CHIANTI" are set.
Ambra and Bucine offer many more services such as banks, restaurants, pizzerias, cinemas, supermarket, beauty center and other chemist’s shops, petrol stations etc.
The train station (Florence-Arezzo line) is in Bucine and it is very convenient for visiting Florence and Arezzo without worrying for the car, the roads and the parking. For further suggestions go to page Train Timetable.
The nearest town is Montevarchi (approx. 22.000 inhabitants) not far from the Motorway A1 Milan-Rome. Nearby, the Hospital of Valdarno valley.
Along the road to Arezzo you will find other villages, such as Pieve a Presciano (approx. 3 km) and Pergine Valdarno (approx. 6 km) or Civitella Valdichiana (approx. 7 km).
